Training Contracts

Debenhams Ottaway currently employs approximately 100 staff across two offices in South Hertfordshire.

We normally offer up to 4 training contracts each year.

We take applications from students who are undertaking or have completed their LPC at any of the Law Schools and initially invite them for a telephone interview. This is a start of a rigorous recruitment process. Short-listed candidates are then judged on a written submission and a final 12 are invited to spend a 'selection day' with us where they take part in interviews, discussion groups and presentations.

We are a serious training establishment, accredited by the Solicitors' Regulation Authority. Our training is first class with high levels of supervision and client contact. Our training contracts are operated fully in accordance with the SRA's Training Code. Our rates of pay exceed the minimum guidelines and our aim is to retain the majority of our trainees as solicitors and future partners of the firm.
