Debenhams Ottaway are pleased to announces that the STAGs school Dragons Apprentice team, SHS fundraising, is one of six teams to be shortlisted as a finalist in the CONNECT ST ALBANS DRAGONS’ APPRENTICE AWARDS to be held on March 16 at the University of Hertfordshire, de Havilland campus.
The Dragons’ Apprentice challenge is managed by Connect St Albans, a group that links the needs of local voluntary organisations with the skills and resources of local businesses. It has the active support of the University of Hertfordshire, St Albans City and District Council, St Albans District Chamber of Commerce, St Albans Enterprise Agency (Stanta), St Albans Local Strategic Partnership and Oaklands College.This is the second year of the Dragons’ Apprentice challenge, aimed to encourage young people to become more aware and involved with their local voluntary sector.
SHS Fundraising will be giving a presentation at the awards event on 16th March and will then be quizzed by the Super Dragons
The panel of SuperDragons will include:
Julie Newlan - Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Business School, University of Hertfordshire
Daniel Goodwin - Chief Executive, St Albans City & District Council
Graham Lane - President, St Albans District Chamber of Commerce
Laura Cronshaw - Chief Executive, St Albans Centre for Voluntary Service
The Super Dragons will be awarding prizes for:
1. Most money raised
2 Most innovative idea
3 Best example of close co-operation and/or raised awareness of the charity
4 Best presentation
5 Best poster
The SHS fundraising team's business mentor and Dragon, Associate Solicitor Luke Tucker Harrison says "The girls have shown how working with the local business community is key to business success in St Albans. They have demonstrated excellent teamwork, great communication and a drive to succeed in their various initiatives."
