Debenhams Ottaway wins Best Corporate Social Responsibility Award

At the recent St Albans Chamber of Commerce Community Business Awards dinner, Debenhams Ottaway won the Best Corporate Responsibility Category. The category was keenly contested, with 30 submissions being made for consideration. After a thorough selection process 3 businesses were shortlisted. The Award was sponsored by the Harpenden Building Society, whose Chief Executive attended the dinner to present the award.

Ian Hopkins, Debenhams Ottaway Chief Executive commented:

“I’m absolutely delighted that the firm has been recognised with the Award for Best Corporate Social Responsibility. If ever there was a team effort this was it – running 10k races, flipping pancakes, climbing the Himalayas, providing free legal advice, mentoring young dragons, competing in It’s a Knock Out, playing musical instruments and recognising local members of the community who have given something back – the list goes on and on, with so many of the firm’s people giving freely of their time and energy.”
