Debenhams Ottaways has sponsored the Kings Langley Cricket Club Colts section and this has been rewarded by a superb win in the final of the Peter Wright Memorial Trophy competition. The Kings Langley U-15 team comfortably beat the U-15 team from local rival village Abbots Langley.
Abbots Langley batted first and scored 77 in their 20 overs, ending in sensational style with Mark Walker taking 4 wickets in 4 balls, a feat which is very rarely achieved in any form of cricket. This earned him the man of the match award.
Kings Langley scored the necessary runs in 12 overs for the loss of only 1 wicket.
U-15 Captain, Logan Turner, who received the trophy from Nick Wright, the late Peter Wright's son, said 'the additional sponsorship from Debenhams Ottaway has enabled the club to purchase additional equipment for Sunday morning training sessions which has immediately shown a huge improvement in the team's standard'.
