As Head of the Private Client Department Nick is responsible for the future development of the Department and its continued success in an ever more challenging environment. He sets the standard in treating clients, often in stressful or bereaved circumstances, with dignity, humanity and sympathy. This has lead to the Private Client Department securing a Tier 1 rating with Legal 500 for South-East England, one of only 4 firms to do so.
Client comment: “We very much valued: the thorough approach with attention to detail on what was a complicated and long case, the regular information sharing and communication and the way you sought out our own opinions, your sensitive involvement with my elderly and unwell parents. We felt we were dealing with a solicitor who had high professional standards alongside the ability to show kindness and compassion.”
Nick has a great deal of pride in the last 250 years of history of the firm and enormous confidence in its future, demonstrated by his huge commitment to coaching of trainee Solicitors, the professional standards to which the next generation should aspire and his enjoyment of their success.
As a Private Client Solicitor with more than 30 years experience, Nick acts in complicated Wills, Trusts and Probate cases, and all aspects of elderly care, often as Court of Protection Deputy and also as independent Personal Representative in cases of disputed Estate Administration.
He also specialises in Tax planning work for individuals and trusts.
He is an author for Butterworths on Wills Drafting, and has written and contributed to several books for the Consumers’ Association on Wills Probates, Residential Property and Tax matters.
He has been a lecturer on Succession for the London University LLB degree course and is a frequent and engaging speaker at Seminars for clients and professionals.
