As Executive Partner of Debenhams Ottaway, Louise works closely with the Chief Executive as part of the senior management team, with responsibility to assist the Chief Executive with implementation of the firm’s strategic aims.
Louise specialises in employment law. Whether advising employers or employees she aims to give clear advice and provide pragmatic and commercial solutions. Her clients value her informal style, her ability to quickly understand their requirements, and her direct and tenacious approach with opposing litigants.
Skills & Expertise
Louise works with a broad range of owner-managed SME’s, family businesses, UK subsidiaries and charities, typically employing 150 employees or less. She offers a complete employment service which includes preparation of contracts and handbooks; advice on handling HR issues such as disciplinaries and redundancies; advice on the employment aspects of organisational change such as restructuring and mergers, and representation at Employment Tribunals.
Louise believes in strategic partnership with other professionals to ensure her clients achieve a better, faster and cheaper outcome. In particular she works closely with a number of highly qualified HR consultants with a proven track record, to provide her clients with on-site support when needed. Her commercial clients include Fujitsu UK ltd, and organisations in the residential care, interior design, manufacturing, construction, technology and recruitment sectors.
She also advises individuals, particularly at Director level. She has advised a broad range of clients, from the CEO of a large privately owned insurance company, to one of the personal staff of an overseas Royal family.
Louise regularly speaks on legal issues in seminars to clients, fellow professionals and has more recently lectured to the Oaklands College Engineering and Construction Forums.
