Richard Hosmer

Solicitor

Richard is in the Dispute Resolution Team. His caseload is largely made up of property disputes, personal injury claims and contract disputes.

He has experience of preparing cases both for Court and relevant tribunals, such as the Adjudicator to HM Land Registry and the Leashold Valuation Tribunal, but he seeks where appropriate to make use of alternative dispute resolution to achieve the most cost effective and flexible outcomes for his clients.

Skills & Expertise

A substantial amount of Richard’s work concerns different types of property dispute, and he has increasing expertise in this area. He has had cases involving neighbour disputes regarding boundaries, rights of way, trespass and nuisance, access to neighbouring land and party walls.

He acts for both landlords and tenants in connection with residential and commercial leases on matters ranging from tenancy deposit disputes and service charge issues to possession claims and lease renewal proceedings. He has experience of bringing professional negligence claims against solicitors and other professionals arising out of their mishandling of property-related work.

Richard has pursued fast and multi-track claims on behalf of people injured in accidents, whether in the workplace, in a shop, on the highway or in other less common circumstances, and has succeeded in securing clients generous sums of compensation for their injuries and financial losses.

Richard deals with disputes relating to contracts for, amongst other things, sale of goods, professional services and insurance. He has acted for employers and contractors in building disputes, and he has also dealt with partnership disputes.
