Consumer Disputes

Whenever contracts for sale, purchase, credit or hire are made by a consumer, whether of goods or for services, the law implies a number of contractual terms.

In the event that the goods are not of satisfactory quality and/or fit for the purpose, or the service is not carried out with reasonable skill and care, then it may be possible to bring a claim against the supplier for breach of contract.

We have experience of acting for individuals in a wide range of consumer disputes from the purchase of vehicles, both new and second hand to domestic building disputes and disputes over furniture and computer purchases. Our team has specialist knowledge of the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services legislation and will advice on both practical and legal steps to be taken to resolve a dispute and recover your losses.

We work closely with clients' legal expenses insurers where a client has the benefit of legal expenses insurance or family legal protection. Where insurance funding is not available we provide clients with stage estimates for their legal costs so that the claim can be run to budget.
